  According to reports, Wang Bohua, honorary chairman of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, said in Beijing on the 28th that China's new photovoltaic installed capacity is expected to be 190 gigawatts to 220 gigawatts in 2024, which may be the same as last year's record level of 217 gigawatts.

   China's new photovoltaic installed capacity in 2023 exceeded expectations by a large margin, doubling the initial forecast of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association.

  Wang Bohua said that the surge in installed capacity last year was the result of a combination of conditions, including post-epidemic recovery and price drops, but these situations do not happen every year. But new solar installed capacity will remain high.

   According to reports, China's record new installed capacity last year was higher than the total installation of solar panels in the United States. The growth in solar capacity and record additions to wind power put China on track to meet a global goal of tripling renewable energy by 2030, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
